During my UNI days, I used to go to Don Don in Swanston St. Glad I found this franchise while walking around looking for something to eat. The Food has always been the same taste no matter which franchise I go to. Authentic Japanese taste, serving size is generous and price is cheaper compare to all the other Japanese Restaurants. Highly recommend.

Best place to go in the Melbourne CBD if you're after tasty, filling and affordable Japanese food. The weekend surcharge is a bit steep at 15%.

Great little spot in the city for an affordable lunch during the work day. Ordered the Bento box and it was amazing. Chicken and beef, rice, salad and even a slice of apple for dessert. Super cheap and very filling!

Good food! I ordered the grilled chicken katsu super tasty Def recommend esp for the price it's a steal. Best dating spot or bringing just one other person since it gets busy and getting a table is hard unless if your sitting on the bar spot (i came around 1 so maybe less busy after) ✌️

Love the food at Don Don's, filling, relatively fast and not super expensive. Only got the take out but it looks like you can dine in here so I'm not going to comment on the service and atmosphere. Would come back for lunch again 😋 P.S: I mixed up some of the curry with the rice already, it doesn't come like that 🙂

Dined in on 4/11/2023 Food: I ordered Don Don Box, which is the bento box. For the price, I am very happy with this offer. They have teriyaki chicken and sukiyaki beef I think. They both taste very good with seaweed sprinkles, pickled ginger, and green onions, on top which makes the aroma more and not boring. Then they have salad with mayonnaise, rice with seaweed sprinkles, and finally a slice of apple and orange. Overall, acceptable price with acceptable food and portion! Environment: they have a little dining area inside, not too much lighting but enough seating, could smell a little bit of oil after eating which is normal because they do fried food in the kitchen. Overall, would visit again and try out other bowls, food.

Taste: 5/5 Portions: medium-large Price: $-$$ The sukiyaki and teriyaki chicken don are great bang for your buck. Dimly lit interior, not very nice to sit in.
